Kerbeck Fell Ponies: Barncrosh Royal

BARNCROSH ROYAL

Sire: Waverhead Fury, Dam: Romany of Barncrosh.
Foaled 1974 and still going strong.

Although not bred at Kerbeck, we have owned Royal since 1982. Originally he was bought for the Riding School, which was operating at that time Royal soon found himself being used for other things. His jumping talents found him regularly amongst the rosette winners at Riding Club and other events, he represented the Fell Pony Society in the Working Hunter Championships at The National Pony Society Show, his dressage was good enough to beat regular competitors on many occasions, he did well in the show ring. He was also a driving pony but could be rather over exuberant at times. After the Riding School was closed Royal went on to be loaned to several Pony Club children - he regularly represented the Clubs at events. He is now living in Cheshire, on loan to Jenny Hayton, who has had him for several years, still competing and bringing home the rosettes!
